Stud name: Takota (meaning friends to many)
Takota was our muse and the reason for our little studs existance. From the moment I first saw him he was impossible to resist, a stunning rare Buckskin Overo with outstanding bloodlines, including Cisco Kid, and Watch the Duco (Paint) and Arabian great sires, Mustafa, Sindh and Greylight.
We cannot sing this guys' praises enough. Takota proved himself to be sensible and affectionate, a fast learner and a steady heart, gentle with mares, foals and gelding, we would often find the foals had paddock hopped to hang out with Takota, who behaves just as gently with human babies as with equine ones.
UNFORTUNATELY: As many people do, we failed to research our chosen path well enough.. Despite his beauty in both nature and skin Takota proved to carry the OLWS (see information in about Pintos section). While we could have bred with him despite the condition and never bred a Live White Foal, we chose to ‘take the higher ground’ and not risk any foal we sold from being bred to another carrier. On his second birthday Takota was gelded.
Being my most beloved horse, my best mate, Takota will never leave us. He will be broken to saddle and hopefully be shown in Western Pleasure classes and anything else that takes our fancy...
